The Newman Grandfather Clock boasts an elegant swan-neck pediment with a turned-urn finial, carved rosettes, a decorative shell carving, and book-matched crotch-figured mahogany overlays. The polished-brass clock dial features a crystal-cut center disk with polished-brass corner spandrels and a lamp behind the dial to highlight the crystal and illuminate the pierced astrological moon dial. The circular spun silver-tone chapter ring sports applied brass Arabic numerals. The polished brass lyre grandfather clock pendulum has a crystal-cut center disk which complements the dial. The weight shells are also finished in matching polished brass. An additional lamp in the base highlights the pendulum and weight shells. Two reeded columns with significantly turned top and bottom caps frame the door; while a decorative Goddard shell carving accents the front door. The sculpted base features a decorative cut-out. Crystal-cut, grooved glass on the lower front door and a glass mirrored back provide additional elegance.

The Newman Grandfather Clock's movement includes an automatic nighttime chime shut-off option for added convenience. The clock's door locks for added security, and adjustable floor levelers are located under all four corners to ensure the clock remains level on uneven surfaces or carpet.
